No lift.
Beautiful position high over the river. Tasteful decor. Lovely food, although pricey. Staff were friendly & helpful.
NO LIFT! It needs to be pointed out on the hotel's website that because there is no lift, that it is unsuitable for guests with limited mobility. Our room was on the top floor up two flights of (windy) stairs. My mother who is 83 could not handle them. Consequently, we had to take a room downgrade (fewer steps) so instead of looking at our beautiful view of the river, we had a view of a fire escape! It was only for one night but if we'd been staying longer, it could have been an issue

Super location and excellent rooms
The location couldn't be more central for the town and the fact that there is private parking makes it super easy to enjoy the area. I had a single room and it was both roomy and well-equipped. The bed was super comfortable and the tea/coffee facilities were good, with a much better UHT milk than the little pots you usually get.
I was very happy with my stay. If I was going to suggest any improvements, which may just be my preference, I'd say: I'd love to have had a moveable shower head, not just the one overhead; I'd have loved to have a bolster to make sitting up in bed to watch the tv a little more comfortable. I'd like to see either a 2nd bin for recycles in the rooms or a recycling spot by the hotel. I had packaging and paper (magazines etc) that I took away rather than put for landfill bin collection. During my stay the tv sound was rather muffled. It didn't bother me much and I mentioned it to reception when I left.
